The Nikefication of the NFL has a handful of clear exceptions. One has been the Chiefs. But for a 2009 game against the Cowboys in which the Chiefs resurrected their Dallas Texans uniforms from the years the two AFL and NFL teams shared a market (which happened before Nike took over the apparel contract), the Chiefs have shunned the proliferation of helmets and jerseys and alternate whatnot.

The Super Bowl LIX uniform matchup is set. The Kansas City Chiefs will wear their away white uniforms on Feb. 9 when they take on the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, who will wear their home greens.

The Chiefs also wore their home uniforms in Super Bowl LV, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opting to wear their away uniforms for that matchup. Tampa Bay wound up winning that Super Bowl, 31-9.
