The Pittsburgh Steelers have an iconic logo. However, unlike the 31 other teams who have their logos sketched on either side of their helmet, the Steelers emblem is marked on just one side.

Back in the 1950s, NFL teams were just beginning to use helmets. At first, the Steelers stamped player numbers on either side of their helmets like most of their contemporaries.

Only the Steelers have their emblem on one side of their helmets in the NFL. As they weren't certain how they would like the logo's look on an all-gold helmet, this was initially a temporary solution.
