German police say that severe storms in southern Germany forced a Ryanair flight to make an emergency landing late Wednesday after violent turbulence injured nine people on board.

Eight people were injured when a Ryanair plane suffered heavy turbulence caused by severe storms in southern Germany, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing in Bavaria, local police said on Thursday.

Violent storms caused havoc in southern Germany late on Wednesday night, and forced the emergency landing of a Ryanair jet in which passengers were injured.
