Because the fox has lived her whole life in captivity, she won’t be returned to the wild. It’s been about a month since an Arctic fox was found wandering in a park in Portland, Oregon.

A stray arctic fox was taken to the Bird Alliance of Oregon’s wildlife rehabilitation hospital on Oct. 12 after it was found wandering the streets of Portland.

The Arctic fox doesn't show a fear response to people, staff said, and approached humans when she was rescued. Due to her upbringing, staff said she would not be able to survive in the wild.

However, this crazy Arctic fox behavior has baffled researchers for years. That all came to a head in 2024 when the true purpose and mechanics behind this Arctic fox hunting tactic were revealed.
