A security guard at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne shot and killed an active shooter Sunday morning, according the Wayne Police Department.

The Wayne Police Department responded to reports of an active shooter at Crosspointe Community Church on Sunday, June 22, 2025, morning. Police said when officers got to the church they determined that a security guard for the church shot and killed the suspect. They said one person was also shot in the leg.
