The Toronto Blue Jays' season hung in the balance after superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s early exit in their 6-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday. The 26-year-old got hit in the forearm by a pitch in the third inning and got subbed out in the fourth.

The Blue Jays revealed Guerrero's final status ahead of Friday's bout with the Boston Red Sox, via their social media. The slugger will sit out, and backup Ernie Clement will replace him at first base. Manager John Schneider mentioned that Guerrero's X-rays were negative earlier in the day, via MLB Network radio.
