The Ottawa Senators' season is now a week old, and much of the media attention has been on injury issues. But before anyone adopts a woe-is-us stance, this is not a unique NHL situation, even this early in the season.

Linus Ullmark made a step in the right direction on the road to recovery. The Ottawa Senators’ top goaltender was first on the ice for Thursday morning’s optional skate and though he didn’t dress as the backup against the New Jersey Devils that’s a good sign.
