Environment Canada is warning that snow currently falling in Toronto could become heavy at times on Wednesday night.

Up to 20 cm of snow and ice build-up are expected in Mississauga, Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area on Thursday with snowfall up to 40 cm possible in some parts of southern Ontario before the storm wraps.

Snowfall is expected to begin Saturday afternoon and continue into the night, affecting areas along Lake Ontario from St. Catherines to Kingston as well as towns just east of London.

A large portion of Ontario, from the Temiskaming-Temagami area in the north to the Sarnia area in the south, is under a snowfall warning, as is the southern half of Quebec
