A man found inside of a burning house in Terrytown early Wednesday morning died from his injuries sustained in the fire, according to a news release from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. Multiple fire agences and JPSO went to the 700 block of Mercedes Place around 1:40 a.m. and saw smoke coming from inside a home, said JPSO Sgt. Brandon Veal.

According to a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the fire happened around 1:40 a.m. on Mercedes Place near Carol Sue Avenue in Terrytown.

An early morning fire on Feb. 26, claimed the life of a Terrytown resident. According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, around 1:40 a.m., deputies were called to the scene of a fire in the 700 block of Mercedes Place.
