FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth on MSN3 EF-1 tornadoes hit North Texas on Sunday, officials sayBONHAM, Texas - The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes hit North Texas on Sunday. Survey teams found evidence of two twisters that touched down in Fannin County and one that hit Sherman in Grayson County. All three tornadoes had wind speeds of around 100 miles per hour, making them EF-1 tornadoes.
Safety officials said the city of Bonham in Fannin County sustained "considerable damage" during Sunday night storms.
Temperatures near the triple-digits as the threat for severe weather increases Sunday, June 8. High winds, heavy rain and large hail are possible, according to our First Alert Weather Team.
Storms will stay north of the KVUE area until 4-5 a.m. Monday morning. The level 1 "marginal" risk will expand over Central Texas for the rest of the day, as a few additional isolated storms will be possible in the afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has placed Washington, Grimes, Walker and Trinity Counties under a flood watch through Thursday evening. Other counties may be added based on how rain develops, but the bottom line is that conditions are favorable for heavy rain through at least the next 24-36 hours.
