The Colorado Rockies have reinstated left-hander Austin Gomber from the 60-day injured list before his start against the Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves will send right-hander Grant Holmes to the mound on Sunday afternoon in an effort to sweep their three-game series with the visiting Colorado Rockies.

Colorado snapped a five-game losing streak with an 8-7 win Thursday. Orlando Arcia walked it off for Colorado with a two-run single in the final frame as the Rockies prevailed for just the thirteenth time in 68 games. The Braves enjoyed a day off Thursday.

The latest evidence: The Rockies’ 12-4 loss to the Braves on Friday night at Truist Field, in which the Braves scored 11 runs in their last three at-bats. Consider: Colorado got an excellent start from German Marquez and ripped Atlanta pitching for 14 hits, on the road no less.

The Atlanta Braves will not have left-hander Chris Sale make his next scheduled start as planned, instead moving him back in the rotation.

The Atlanta Braves started the weekend series on a high note after Friday night’s 12-4 defeat over the Colorado Rockies. Bryce Elder got the ball to start the game; he threw 3.1 mediocre innings and allowed each of Colorado’s runs. The Atlanta offense, however, finally came to life and put together a few crooked number innings.
