Wanna feel old, Focker? Meet the Parents is turning 25 this October, and to mark the occasion, the cast — including Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, and Teri Polo — and director Jay Roach reunited at the Tribeca Film Festival over the weekend for a Q&A after an anniversary screening of the comedy.

“What spurred the idea is that I’m the age that Bob was when we did the first movie,” Stiller said on a panel after the screening. “It felt like a mirror to the first film, where one of my kids is thinking about introducing his person to the family.” “The script is really fun,” De Niro added. “I’m looking forward to it.”

As fans await the release of the long-awaited family comedy sequel Freakier Friday, another star-studded fan-fave from the early 2000s, Meet the Parents, is once again spreading its franchise wings with a new entry.
