Over two dozen protestors, mostly high school students, gathered in Bronson, Michigan to protest President Trump's immigration policies. The protest was sparked by fears of ICE raids and deportations, particularly within the Hispanic community.

In a grass-roots effort to kick off a national movement, organizers encouraged those opposed to President Trump’s actions on immigration, transgender rights and more to gather at state capitals and city halls.

The demonstrations were organized online under the hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501 (50 protests, 50 states, one day).

Organizers say they hope to see hundreds of protestors on Michigan's capital lawn on Wednesday as part of a nationwide effort born on social media just over the last week to speak out en masse against the Trump administration.
