As studios continue to downsize, Paramount Global is the latest to announce layoffs. The company said Tuesday that it would be laying off 3.5% of its domestic staff.
"These changes are necessary to address the environment we are operating in and best position Paramount for success," its co-CEOs say.
Paramount Global chief financial officer Naveen Chopra is exiting his post at the media company to join gaming platform company Roblox as CFO.
The layoffs on Tuesday impact around 3.5 percent of Paramount’s global workforce, with the company having laid off around 2,000 US employees last year. In an internal memo seen by Deadline, Paramount execs said the cuts were driven by linear TV declines and broader economic concerns as the company focuses its efforts on streaming.
