The Mega Millions ticket was purchased at the adjacent ShopRite liquor store and was the largest lottery jackpot ever won in New Jersey. According to lottery officials, since 2020, 12 other New Jersey retailers, including White Oak Liquors in Belleville and 7-Eleven in Montvale, have sold multiple draw prizes exceeding $500,000.

Fifteen players in New Jersey won $10,000 or more last week playing Powerball, Mega Millions and New Jersey Lottery games.

The Mega Millions jackpot was reset back to $50 million for the drawing on Tuesday, July 1, after a person in Virginia won the big prize June 27. If someone matches all six numbers on Tuesday, they will have the option of a one-time cash payment of $22.4 million.
