This year’s Los Angeles District Attorney race is pitting incumbent George Gascón, widely viewed as a progressive criminal justice reformer, against former federal prosecutor Nathan Hochman, who is running on a more traditional approach to prosecuting cases.

In the race for LA County District Attorney, former U.S. Assistant Attorney General Nathan Hochman is looking to unseat current District Attorney George Gascón.

If the election were held today, according to the survey from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, co-sponsored by The Times, 51% of the likely L.A. County voters would choose Hochman, and 21% would cast a ballot for Gascón.
