The U.S. Marshals Service said Mexican law enforcement was attempting to arrest escapee Cesar Hernandez, who is wanted in the US, when a shooting occurred.

New Mexico State Police is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Office and Ohkay Owingeh Police Department Thursday. NMSP said a suspect was shot in a Lowe’s parking lot in Española.
