The Los Angeles Clippers will be getting back Ben Simmons and head coach Tyronn Lue following multi-game absences.

Fortunately for the Clippers, while they won't be getting their leading scorer back, they'll be getting a key bench player in Ben Simmons. Clippers head coach Ty Lue revealed that Simmons will be upgraded to available and return from a seven-game absence.

This scoring outburst was much needed for the Clippers since six-time All-Star Kawhi Leonard was out for the second leg of a back-to-back due to injury management. Los Angeles was also without three-time All-Star Ben Simmons, who recently signed after his buyout with the Brooklyn Nets .

Ben Simmons is trending toward a return from an extended absence. The Los Angeles Clippers upgraded the point guard to questionable for Friday’s matchup with the Atlanta Hawks after he missed the last seven games due to a left knee injury.

For the second consecutive game, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Los Angeles Clippers as they look to extend their winning streak to six games. On Friday, the Lakers defeated the Clippers 106-102.

The Clippers have had some serious injury concerns with guys like Powell and Kawhi Leonard, so losing valuable depth pieces like Simmons to injury certainly hurts. The three-time All-Star is averaging 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 steals through five games since signing with the Clippers while shooting 58.3% from the field.
