New York Mets' infielder Jeff McNeil has been red-hot, helping provide key length to the team's starting lineup.

The Mets had answered a three-run deficit in the bottom of the second inning with McNeil looping in an RBI single to score Brandon Nimmo. Then, Soto, who finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, drove an opposite-field home run to left field in the bottom of the third inning to slice the Mets' deficit to 3-2.

“I’m trying to hit it hard,” McNeil said Tuesday night, after his 10th-inning single lifted the Mets to a 5-4 come-from-behind walk-off win over Washington. “I’m not trying to guide the ball out there.”
