The federal judge who ruled against Donald Trump's deportation plans and is now facing White House calls for his impeachment is no stranger to politically fraught cases — including ones involving the president.

Judge Boasberg's role overseeing a new case that challenges the deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador has cast an even brighter light on the longtime judge.

President Trump has called for Judge Boasberg to be impeached after he ruled against the administration over the president’s efforts to use a law from 1798 to speed deportations.
