KANSAS CITY — Shortly after BYU squeaked past Iowa State 88-85 in two overtimes in an absolute thriller in Ames, Iowa, the Cougars and Cyclones started talking about a possible rematch in the Big 12 tournament this week at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

The 12th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 76-56 in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament. Iowa State's victory was fueled by a dominant frontcourt performance, led by Joshua Jefferson with 19 points and Dishon Jackson with a double-double (10 points, 15 rebounds).

Joshua Jefferson recorded 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead No. 12-ranked Iowa State to a 76-56 victory over Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the Big 12 tournament at Kansas City.

Iowa State basketball won in wire-to-wire fashion, but had a scare in the closing minutes when Tamin Lipsey went down with an apparent groin injury.

The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team is moving on. The No. 13 Bearcats now face Iowa State for the second time this season in the Phillips 66 Big 12 tournament. UC took down Oklahoma State 87-68 Wednesday.
