Jo Ellis was not flying the helicopter. The Army identified the Black Hawk crew as Ryan Austin O’Hara, Andrew Loyd Eaves and Rebecca M. Lobach.

NTSB investigators have recovered the Black Hawk helicopter from a Washington, D.C. collision with an American Airlines airplane from the the Potomac River. Parts of the wreckage are being transported to Ronald Reagan Washington National airport for further examination.

Data from air traffic control radar showed the military chopper was flying at 300 feet on the air traffic control display at the time of the fiery crash, according to the NTSB.

More than a week after the horrific helicopter-plane collision near Washington, salvage crews have recovered most of the wreckage.
