It seems like Michigan has flipped from "I never get to see the Northern Lights" to "Hey they’re here!" so quickly. Why? The answer lies in Outer Space.

The wording from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) is not as confident on strong northern lights tonight. They do say we will likely have northern lights, but give the various levels of northern lights a lesser chance than last night.

Michiganders — and sky watchers in other parts of North America — got a glimpse of the northern lights Thursday night, which space prediction scientists have said is more likely this year than others because the sun is at the peak of its activity cycle.
