The New York Mets on Tuesday called up prized infield prospect Ronny Mauricio from the minors. Mauricio’s promotion came after third baseman Mark Vientos strained his right hamstring late in Monday night’s victory over the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

The New York Mets will replace the injured Mark Vientos with prospect Ronny Mauricio, who is still a rookie despite finishing up the 2023 season in the majors.
