Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić's voice has reportedly been heard in his first offseason with L.A., both inside team headquarters and outside the facility as an "active recruiter" for the Purple and Gold,

Dončić helped secure commitments from Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart after both unexpectedly hit free agency via contract buyouts.

While other teams like the Suns and Bucks reportedly pursued Smart as a free agent, turns out, Luka Doncic helped recruit Smart to Los Angeles. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, Doncic "reached out to Smart and made it clear that he wanted to play with the two-way stalwart.

The Wizards traded for Smart last season, and he, by all accounts, provided a positive example to the team’s younger players.
