Yes, you can bring food but - I recommend to eat in some local restaurant.

We bought one day tourist package in Playa del Carmen which includes: visit to archeological parks Tulum and Coba + lunch. total price was 50 USD per person.

During our visit - there was not possible to climb. We went there in April 2022.
