No, Mr. Simpson lived in Wilson. He is the man that created these items. He had these and more at his home in Wilson and would let the public come visit them several times a year until his death. He left some to the city when he died and they created the park. You should go see them. They are made out of odds-n-ins-and are rather amazing. Look up Vollis Simpson and read more about him and the whirligigs. :)
