My daughter just turned 3 and she really enjoyed it. Especially the dark room where you press a button and it lights up the florescent rocks. Some of the display cases are a bit too high for my 3 year old to see into, but I was able to just lift her up. I found it was a good place to practice "museum etiquette" like walking, talking quiet, and not touching. I also had my 3 month old son (in a carrier) and he was fine.
