We are coming (myself and 12yr old son) to watch Oliver next week, its a day trip. Question is about bags. I've read all the guidelines regarding bags, we intend to bring a small rucksack that will contain our refillable water bottles for train journey and snacks for journey home. Just wanted people's personal experience if this would be acceptable? We've been to many theatres and not had a problem.

Hi, My wife took her small handbag which wasn't a problem and they do, of course, make the usual bag search upon entering. I am not sure what precise sizes they allow but I know they have a reasonably priced cloakroom where bags and coats can be left. I would suggest emailing them to ask as we both found them very friendly and helpful, especially as we have mobility issues, and I am sure they would be equally helful in answering your query. Hope that helps.

I always book stalls, but you can access a seating plan with views from each seat on the Gielgud Theatre website to help you decide. Enjoy the production!
