Great piece of history for the area. Much of the area was developed by the Venetians during their occupation. Walled fortifications are a key element.Full review by TAMAN1951

I wondered if you could advise what part of Chania Old Town I should stay in. I have trawled the internet for advice, but cant quite get the answer I am looking for. Looking down on the map, there is the touristy half horseshaped area where the main eating area is, but then the Venetian old harbor down to the far right of the map also has eateries AND accommodation. I have found a nice apartment right down in the Glafkou area. Do you think that is too far out?? Thank you

Hi we stayed at the Hotel Off - lovely boutique hotel run by 2 wonderful young women and so close to all the facilities of the OVH but so quiet and comfortable.
Hi David, a group of us are cruising on Princess Cruises in June and I'm just wondering if you may have gone on a cruise yourself and if so, where your ship docked? Anywhere near here? Thanks in advance, Helen

Hi everyone, i have not gone on a cruise in a while, but if you plan on traveling to Chania specifically, you will stop at the Souda Port in Chania and then to get to the Venetian harbor you have to take a car or a taxi to Palia Poli as they call it in Greek. It should take about 15 Mins to get their.
Any advice on which hotels are best to stay in to get the best out of Chania and that area. Ideally I'd like a hotel near the sea for swimming but handy enough to walk round the old town etc. Thanks.
