As far as activities are concerned, you cannot beat Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While the big resorts are going to cost a significant amount during the summer, there are lots of condo complexes with individual owners and property management who can provide a much more reasonable rate. Consider calling properties where the condos are individually owned and ask if they have any last minute deals. Often times, owners give property managers advanced permission to sell their condo at half the cost if it has not rented.
