Great and easy hike. U get to see lemurs for sure. Wish they accepted credit cards though for souvenir purchase and entrance fee. There is even a beautiful river in the parkFull review by Jojotangjojotang

It's a MUST visit place to get a first hand glimpse of the Lemur's Of Madagascar. Before you travel to the wilderness where it takes a long time to go in roads that are in poor conditionFull review by GundaBoy

Questions & answers

Q:
what are the prices?
A:
About $12 for an adult on the guided tour. Worth it!
Q:
Is there a fee to go in to the Lemur park?
A:
Yes - it isn't expensive and includes a very knowledgeable guide. The price depends on how many are in your group. Enjoy - it was one of my fav places in Madagascar.

I am planning to go to lemurs parc. It looks like it will cost a lot to get there by taxi so wondered about turning it I to a full day trip. Is there anything worth combining it with ad a full day out of Tana? I have been quoted 40 USD to take me, wait and bring me back. Says leaving at 8 and returning at 5 but all reviews don't seem to think it needs that long. Any advice appreciated.

Yes is the answer you won't need that much time, we did this as a half day trip. Getting there alone is interesting and not run of the mill stuff, our driver stopped if we wanted to take pictures. The park it self even after having a drink we spent around 1.5hrs. A full day might include looking round Tana, if you go to the tourist information office you can have a guided walk around 2hrs very interesting as some areas I would advise you need a guide. You learn lots about the area. Hope this helps Tony.

See answer provided 3 days ago...No need to plan ahead. The guides speak a variety of languages and are very well versed in the biology and behavior of the park's residents. They had the best gift-shop of anywhere we went on our trip through Madagascar. But they take only cash....no electricity there so no credit card machine. Great selection of shirts hats packs scarves jewelry crafts etc.
Q:
Is this called Cocotier Sanctuary?
A:
Lemur parc is just outside Antananarivo, the capital. Lemur island is a little reserve owned by Vakona Hotel in Andasibe. That is a 3 hour drive from the capital.
