The trolley tour was a wonderful overview of Crater Lake NP. Informative and interesting stories about history of the park. Take tour first then return on your own to spots that interested you. Full review by hermosamary

When I get on the Crater Trolley, should I try and sit on the driver's or passenger's side? Does it make a difference?

we took the trolley tour this year the last week of June. I'm not sure if it makes a whole lot of difference but the one we took went in a clockwise Direction. that would be from the trolley departure point and facing the lake clockwise would be to the left. if it takes the same direction then the lake would be on the passenger side. there are plenty of places where the lake can be seen from the trolley but not as much as you think, you're better views are from the the stops that the trolley will make. seating was first come first serve and after every stop everybody went back to their original seats. they will make a number of stops to view the lake and on our tour there was a ranger acting as tour guide.
