Take a moment to rest, relax, and refuel in The Switchboard Café during your visit, with food freshly prepared onsite each day using the finest seasonal ingredients. Our café, located in the historic room once used by switchboard operators during the Second World War, is open daily from 10am-5pm. During your visit browse our wide range of inspiring and unique gifts, from books, clothing, and accessories to vintage posters, homeware, toys, and souvenirs. All inspired by IWM's collections and the stories they tell.

Excellent museum, particularly the Churchill Museum section. Plan on spending 2 to 3 hours to really absorb all that is included in the displays. They even have a small cafe.Full review by Navigate25488210069

I don't think children that young would enjoy/understand the exhibits, but of course depends on the child.

We did the self tour. When we visited on a weekday morning there wasn’t a line. With the self tour you get a listening device that is very useful.
